MYAC Eco-Cultural Tourist Attraction

Trinity Inlet Cairns

An indigenous eco-cultural tourism initiative consisting of over 1km of boardwalks and punctuated by crocodile-viewing towers provides complete access for the aged and people with restricted impaired mobility. Designed to capture the growing nature-tourism market and to build skills training and job opportunities for the indigenous community the project gently touches the flood-prone landscape. Open viewing towers screened with low energy, long life panels, louvres and green walls act as confident but respectful markers of the sustainable tourism development. They also provide climbing and zip line exhilaration for the adventurous whilst the “reckless” can be satisfied by the “sleeping with the crocs” huts at ground level.
